Having excellent ideas is not enough if you can’t pour them into a proposal. Ideas would be just ideas when you don’t let others know about them. To make them know, you should provide a nice picture that represents what you are thinking well so that the proposal readers can have the same ideas in their mind without any misunderstanding. It happens when you are planning a great radio show and you want the managers to know about this. Here are some tips to do.
• Researching. You can’t write a proposal if there are guidelines. You surely can find them from the internet so easily, but what you need is the guidelines from the radio station or program where you want your ideas to be implemented. So, the guidelines should come from them to ensure you are writing the right proposal. You can find them from the website if any or simply ask the director. Just research the guidelines carefully because there might be deadlines that you must follow. This also includes training requirements since some programs need certain skills that must be mastered. Just find more information to know whether or not there are some things you need to do before proposing the show.
• Following the Guidelines. The guidelines from the research should be followed during the proposal making as everything you do should stick with them. Knowing how the proposal should be structured based on what they want is important. You can find information from other sources if your targeted station doesn’t provide such guidelines for proposal making.
• Putting the Elements. Every proposal has elements and they are mostly the same. Bullet points are always used to make the proposal easier to understand especially if you are stating about your proposed program explanation. Putting it in paragraphs would be damn boring, so keep it simple. Your proposal would be more compelling if you have related experiences with what you are offering.
• Providing Sample. The reason why having related experience is better is because it allows you to provide a sample of your proposed show. Maybe you have had similar shows before and you can reveal them to the director or manager to check. If you don’t have any previous shows, then simply make a sample of your proposed program.
Make sure that your proposed program is something beneficial, not about music or anything that is already too common, but it can be a show talking to the doctor by having a real doctor to answer some questions from the audiences related with health issues or anything really important for life or environment just to make this world and society better.
